Recognized as one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals by Festivals & Events Ontario, Troubadour Festival presented by Paul Sadlon Motors has quickly become one of Central Ontario’s signature live music experiences. Set against the stunning backdrop of Kempenfelt Bay in Downtown Barrie, the festival brings together award-winning Canadian artists, emerging local talent, and thousands of music lovers for four unforgettable Saturdays each summer.
What began as a bold vision to create a world-class outdoor concert experience in the heart of Downtown Barrie has grown into a festival that attracts more than 5,000 people each event, welcoming residents and visitors alike to experience the energy of Meridian Place. With free admission, Troubadour Festival has become a destination where families, friends, and music fans gather to celebrate great music while discovering everything Downtown Barrie has to offer—from local restaurants and patios to unique shops and waterfront attractions.
Building on a breakout inaugural season in 2025 that welcomed more than 15,000 attendees, the festival earned provincial recognition as one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals and continues to raise the bar in 2026 with an expanded festival format.
Each event now delivers a full evening of live entertainment, beginning with the Local Opener Showcase at 5:00 p.m. This signature program celebrates the next generation of Canadian musicians by providing three emerging local artists with the opportunity to perform on a professional festival stage before thousands of people. Selected through an independent jury process, the showcase reflects Troubadour Festival’s commitment to supporting artist development and creating meaningful opportunities for homegrown talent.
From there, the festival builds toward performances by nationally recognized touring artists before culminating with an iconic Canadian headliner. Every event is carefully curated to celebrate the incredible depth and diversity of Canadian music while creating an unforgettable live experience.
New for 2026, Troubadour Festival has expanded beyond the concert stage to become a larger community celebration. Throughout the season, visitors can enjoy enhanced programming, community activations, and special event partnerships that transform Downtown Barrie into a vibrant destination from morning through night. Whether paired with classic car shows, waterfront activities, cultural programming, or family experiences, each festival date offers something unique while maintaining the incredible concert atmosphere that has made Troubadour Festival one of Ontario’s fastest-growing music events.

A new documentary chronicling Jack Johnson’s evolution from surfer to filmmaker to world-renowned musician. The film traces how Johnson’s early years making surf films with close friends became a foundation for a much broader creative life, capturing moments in and out of the water that later surfaced in his songwriting. Blending rare footage from those formative surf films and Johnson’s personal and family archives with present-day reflections, the film weaves together how lived experience, friendship, and exploration shaped the sound and stories behind the music.

Born in Toronto and raised in Barrie, Ontario, Afie Jurvanen, known professionally as Bahamas, has become one of Canada’s most celebrated singer-songwriters. Blending folk, soul, pop, and country with his signature warm, laid-back sound, Bahamas has built a career on honest storytelling, memorable melodies, and understated musicianship. Over the past two decades, he has collaborated with artists including Jack Johnson, Feist, The Lumineers, City and Colour, Zeus, and Kathleen Edwards, with Jack Johnson signing Bahamas to his Brushfire Records label in 2013.
Since releasing his debut album Pink Strat in 2009, followed by the breakthrough Barchords, Bahamas has continued to evolve through acclaimed albums including Bahamas Is Afie, Earthtones, Sad Hunk, the Nashville-recorded country album Bootcut, and most recently My Second Last Album. Recorded in a small backyard studio in rural Nova Scotia, his latest release reflects the creative freedom and quieter pace of life that have shaped his songwriting since relocating there with his family in 2019.
A five-time JUNO Award winner, including Songwriter of the Year, Bahamas has sold out theatres across North America while earning more than one billion streams worldwide. Toronto’s Zeus has spent more than 15 years earning a reputation as one of Canada’s premier rock bands, blending classic rock influences, power pop melodies, and exceptional musicianship into a sound that feels both timeless and fresh. Formed by Neil Quin, Mike O’Brien, Carlin Nicholson, and Rob Drake, the band quickly broke onto the national scene with their Polaris Music Prize-nominated debut album Say Us (2010), which also earned XM Verge’s Album of the Year award.
They followed with the critically acclaimed Busting Visions, receiving praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, SPIN, NPR, and KCRW, while building a reputation as one of Canada’s most captivating live acts. Their third studio album, Classic Zeus, showcased the band’s signature blend of soaring harmonies, infectious hooks, and introspective songwriting, further cementing their place in Canada’s modern rock landscape.
In Fall 2026, Zeus celebrates the 15th anniversary of their acclaimed debut with the release of Lost & Found: The Say Us Archives, featuring previously unreleased songs written during the Say Us sessions. More than a retrospective, the album revisits one of the band’s most creative periods while reminding audiences why Zeus continues to be celebrated for its heartfelt songwriting, rich harmonies, and unforgettable live performances.

Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, and now based north of Toronto, B Knox brings a distinctive blend of alt-country, Americana, and honky-tonk rock to the Troubadour stage. Known for his emotive vocals and authentic songwriting, he has earned praise from publications including AmericanaUK, Folk Radio UK, RnR Magazine, and AltCountry.NL. His music has received airplay on SiriusXM, CBC, and radio stations across Canada and internationally, while his songs have found audiences through playlists curated by Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Starbucks. A shortlisted songwriter for both the Canadian Country Music Association and the International Songwriting Competition, B Knox continues to establish himself as one of Canada’s exciting emerging Americana artists.
Bracebridge singer-songwriter Noah Ruttan has quickly become one of Central Ontario’s rising country and Americana voices. Fresh off winning the 2026 North of Nowhere Music Festival Emerging Artist Showcase, Ruttan draws inspiration from his Muskoka roots and artists including Charles Wesley Godwin, Jackson Dean, Tim McGraw, and Gordon Lightfoot. His heartfelt songwriting and growing catalogue of original music—including Bones, Wild Flower, and April Wine—have earned him an expanding following throughout Ontario.
Ontario-based singer-songwriter Jolie Anastasia delivers intimate folk and Americana performances rooted in honest storytelling and emotional connection. Blending tenderness with grit, her music explores themes of love, resilience, and belonging through timeless songwriting that resonates long after the final note. Her warm, authentic style makes her a fitting addition to an evening celebrating some of Canada’s finest musical talent.

The evening culminates with one of Canada’s most celebrated rock bands. For more than three decades, The Watchmen have remained a defining force in Canadian rock, earning platinum and gold albums, three JUNO Award nominations, and induction into the Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their Gold-certified album Silent Radar, fans can expect an unforgettable night featuring classics including Stereo, Any Day Now, Brighter Hell, Say Something, Run and Hide, Boneyard Tree, Zoom, and many more.
