Community Connection on behalf of the Connected Core Project and their partnerships with the City of Barrie, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie Police Service, and Downtown Barrie BIA is inviting applications for an independent contractor to coordinate their Connected Core Project.
This Pilot is inspired by and based on a successful program that was undertaken in the City of Guelph’s downtown core to build a positive environment. The Project Coordinator will assist existing outreach teams with connecting marginalized individuals with relevant existing organizations in our community that provide services such as housing, addiction and/or mental health support. The Project Coordinator also assists businesses by providing them with tools and education to help them better understand and interact with the marginalized population. This initiative seeks to improve the local business climate, reduce calls to emergency services through de-escalation, as well as assist individuals in need.
