The mission of Word Up is to bring pro and amateur writers in Simcoe County together in an encouraging environment to perform their original work. Writers can learn from pros to further their vocation.

Poets, spoken word performers, rappers, comedians, song writers, motivational speakers and anyone who loves the magic of language is welcome to join. Meet monthly at Unity Market in Barrie to read, to perform and to share our art.

Each month, a little extra inspiration is brought forward in the form of published authors of all genres.

On June 13th, Word Up will be featuring Michael Fraser who “…has been published in numerous national and international anthologies and journals, including Paris/Atlantic, Arc Poetry Magazine, Contemporary Verse 2, and The Caribbean Writer.”
