Join us for an engaging talk with Victoria Butler, Barrie’s recently crowned Poet Laureate and a celebrated creative force. Victoria is a writer, editor and artist from Barrie whose significant contributions include co-founding and acting as Editor-in-Chief of The Northern Appeal, a bi-annual, not-for-profit literary journal born and bred in Simcoe County. Devoted to showcasing talent in Northern Ontario across various disciplines, including short stories, photography and drawing, it is the only periodical of its kind in Simcoe County.
Victoria’s publications include works in Acta Victoriana, untethered, Vagabond City Lit, The Veg and The Humming Magazine. As an artist and writer, Victoria’s commitment to art-making has inspired emerging artists to participate in local politics and raise awareness on local issues.
