Troubadour Festival Announces Local Opener Showcase Artists for July 25 Headliner The Watchmen

Barrie, ON – The Downtown Barrie BIA is proud to announce the three selected artists for the Troubadour Festival Local Opener Showcase, in Meridian Place on Saturday, July 25 as part of the second event in the festival series featuring Canadian rock icons The Watchmen.

Kicking off the evening at 5:00 PM, the showcase will feature three exceptional artists whose talent, dedication, and live energy reflect the strength of the region’s music scene.

Noise HotelNoise Hotel is a four-piece indie rock band blending nostalgic swagger with modern energy, drawing inspiration from Arctic Monkeys, The Backseat Lovers, and Steve Lacy. Formed in Ottawa in 2022, the band quickly became a fixture in the city’s indie scene before expanding to festival stages including NXNE and the legendary Horseshoe Tavern. Following the release of their acclaimed album Poolside Fantasy, Noise Hotel enters 2026 with new music, major festival appearances, and their sophomore album Leisure Theory on the horizon.

Siobhan Bodrug – Siobhan Bodrug is a rising Toronto indie-pop singer-songwriter known for soulful vocals and genre-blending style. She’s performed at Rockwood Music Hall and major festivals, sharing stages with artists like Stars and Joel Plaskett. A 2022 Honey Jam artist, her single “The End Lies Ahead” topped 130,000 Spotify streams, highlighting her growing impact. 

Nix IronstoneNix Ironstone is the bold new chapter of award-winning Canadian artist Nicole Rayy. After more than a decade in country music, earning 10 CMA Ontario nominations, a Music Video of the Year award, and over 5 million streams, she has embraced a darker alt-rock sound. Blending indie rock, goth-pop, and powerful storytelling, Nix debuted in 2025 with Dead To Me and is quickly establishing herself as one of Canada’s most compelling emerging rock voices.

As Troubadour Festival continues to grow as one of Ontario’s premier live music experiences, the Local Opener Showcase remains a cornerstone of its commitment to supporting emerging talent and building a vibrant, inclusive music community throughout Ontario.
