There is a new ’55 special in town and it’s Double Nickel Wednesdays in Downtown Barrie.
On the last Wednesday of the month shoppers aged 55 and over can visit North Valley Medical Aesthetics, OntheMark Vintage, Rudy’s and Lotus Lane and receive a 15% discount on their purchases.
This east end initiative is being led by Ashley Ziltener, the proprietor of North Valley Medical Aesthetics.
ABOUT NORTH VALLEY MEDICAL AESTHETICS:
“North Valley Aesthetics has been around for almost ten years. We started on Bayfield Street and then last year moved downtown. We were in the Dunlop Mews alley, now known as Sally’s Alley for one year before moving again to our newest location here at 120 Dunlop Street East.
We specialize in everything to do with skin. We aim to build skin confidence in men and women. We specialize in injectables, and medical grade skincare.
My goal is to be the go-to-spot for everyone’s skincare needs.
So many people, including young people, suffer from acne and skin conditions like rosacea, and they don’t know what they’re putting on their skin. We are the skin experts, we take the guesswork out of it. We can analyze your skin, go over a particular treatment plan made for your skin type, and then guide you and follow you along the way. Helping with everything related to skincare above and below the surface.”
ON CHOOSING DOWNTOWN BARRIE:
“I’ve always been a Downtown Barrie person myself. I love the community, the neighborhood. I support all the businesses. Pretty much all my friends own a business down here, and it only made sense for me to be on the block as well.
Everybody looks after each other: the clientele and the pedestrians walking downtown. Everyone is so friendly. There’s a skincare clinic literally right across the street but I don’t view anybody as competition. It’s all community. And we all just kind of work together. We bring our own flavours, you know, to the pot, so to speak. So when this spot became available, I had to jump on it.
I feel more part of a community than I ever have in any of my other locations. On Bayfield Street, I felt isolated. People were like, “How could you go from Bayfield Street down to Dunlop Street?” I said, “Well, come visit and see it for yourself.” And now, if we’re running behind because we’re super busy, clients can shop at a local store right next door. We can partner with other brands and businesses as well. We’re all looking after each other.”
THE NEW DOUBLE NICKEL WEDNESDAY:
“So, our Double Nickel/55+ Wednesday happens on the last Wednesday of every month. If you’re 55 or over, you can come to North Valley Medical Asthetics, Lotus Lane, Rudy’s and OntheMark Vintage and get 15% off everyone’s retail.
All of our shops are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Rudy’s burgers is open later. You can shop 15% off everything all day and our first Wednesday (this week) went pretty well.
By visiting Downtown for our Double Nickel Wednesdays, you’ll support our small little network of shops in this community, that we felt needed a little extra love.
Hopefully down the road we can get more businesses to participate. So, it becomes more of a monthly event in Downtown Barrie: Double Nickel Wednesday!”
