Downtown Barrie announces the summer outdoor movie line up in partnership with the Barrie Film Festival

Barrie, ON – Anticipation is building as we eagerly await the return of the Lawn Chair Luminata: Movie Night Series! Back by popular demand and in collaboration with the Barrie Film Festival, Meridian Place in Downtown Barrie is set to host this beloved event every Wednesday evening in July and August. With a lineup of 10 captivating movie showings, the excitement is palpable among the audience. Imagining the buzz of over 1000 movie buffs each week, it’s bound to be another unforgettable experience. And with a total attendance of 10,000 over the season, the anticipation only grows. We’re counting down the days to immerse ourselves in the magic of cinema once again in 2024! 

“We’re thrilled to bring this community event to downtown Barrie,” said Ali Oakes, Director of the Downtown Barrie BIA and owner of Oh Bee Hive. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for families and friends to come together, enjoy the beautiful summer evenings, and experience the charm of our vibrant downtown.”

The movie series kicks off on June 26 and continues every Wednesday until August 28. Movies will start at dusk, so bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and get ready to enjoy some of the best family-friendly films in an unforgettable setting.
