20 Years of Great Food, Great Friends, and Great Summers: Barrie Ribfest X Returns to Downtown Barrie!

Thursday, June 18, 2026

BARRIE, ON – Downtown Barrie • Heritage Park

This summer, Downtown Barrie will celebrate a milestone that has become part of the city’s summer story.

The Downtown Barrie BIA, alongside Ontario Festival Group, is proud to welcome the 20th Annual Barrie Ribfest X, presented by Gelateria Italiana, to the shores of Kempenfelt Bay from Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5, 2026.

For two decades, Barrie Ribfest has brought together residents, visitors, families, and food lovers to enjoy great entertainment, award-winning barbecue, and one of Ontario’s most beautiful waterfront settings. As a proud co-presenter, the Downtown Barrie BIA views the event as more than a festival—it is a celebration of community, summer, and the businesses that help make Downtown Barrie a vibrant destination year-round.

Set within Heritage Park overlooking Kempenfelt Bay, Barrie Ribfest X transforms the downtown waterfront into a lively gathering place filled with the sights, sounds, and aromas of summer. The event attracts thousands of visitors, creating valuable economic activity and increased visibility for Downtown Barrie’s shops, restaurants, pubs, patios, and attractions.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Barrie Ribfest X back to Downtown Barrie and our beautiful waterfront,” says BIA Chair Steve Ricalis. “This event has become an annual tradition, bringing together great food, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun while supporting local businesses and showcasing everything our downtown has to offer.”

The 20th anniversary celebration promises to be one of the biggest yet, featuring some of North America’s top BBQ teams, including Camp 31 BBQ, Sticky Fingers BBQ, Uncle Sam’s BBQ, Crabby’s BBQ Shack, and Big Texas BBQ. Festival-goers can enjoy mouthwatering ribs, brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and all the fixings while taking in a full weekend of live entertainment and family activities.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the surrounding area, discover local businesses, enjoy patios, and experience everything Downtown Barrie has to offer before, during, and after the festival.
