BARRIE, ON – Winter just got a whole lot sweeter. Downtown Barrie is inviting residents and visitors to bundle up and explore the city with the return of the Downtown Barrie Hot Cocoa Trail, a cozy, community-favourite experience running throughout the month of February.
The Hot Cocoa Trail transforms Downtown Barrie into a self-guided winter adventure, where participating cafés, restaurants, and specialty retailers offer creative hot cocoa features, comforting treats, and warm winter finds. It’s the perfect excuse to get out, support local, and enjoy everything downtown has to offer during the colder months.

With every Hot Cocoa Trail purchase, visitors can scan the event QR code to be entered to win one of five $50 Downtown Barrie Gift Card prize packages, redeemable at participating downtown businesses.

The 2026 Hot Cocoa Trail officially kicks off during Winterfest weekend, February 7–8, and continues throughout February — making it easy to pair outdoor winter fun with cozy downtown stops.
