Barrie, ON – Downtown Barrie will be all things Canadian on Tuesday, July 1st, as the Downtown Barrie BIA, in partnership with the City of Barrie and with support from Heritage Canada, proudly presents the 2025 Canada Day Celebrations—a full day of free family-friendly fun, cultural programming, and electrifying live music in the heart of the city.

Kicking off at 10 AM, Dunlop Street will once again transform into a vibrant, pedestrian-only zone filled with expanded patios, a curated retail market, local vendors, interactive art activities, and roaming street performers. From Mulcaster to Maple, the streets will pulse with community spirit and celebration.

Meridian Place, starting at 10am will host a day-long lineup of performances showcasing family and children’s activities put on by the Kiwanis Club of Barrie including performances by Zoo To You and the Juggling Chef. Be sure to catch the annual Canada Day Cup Wrestling match, always a crowd entertainer it will be full of physical feats and storyline antics. At 5 PM, don’t miss the Canada Day Cupcake Celebration, where local dignitaries will hand out free cupcakes before the Barrie Baytown Big Band leads the crowd in the singing of O Canada, followed by a joyful hour of big band classics.

As the sun begins to set, the energy will rise. Taking the stage at 8:15 PM, Ryan Langdon—a rising star in Canadian country music—will headline this year’s celebration. With over 8 million global streams and four Top 40 Canadian Country radio hits (“Lit In The Sticks,” “Leave Me Right,” “Country Like You,” “Feel Like Home”), Langdon promises a performance that fuses modern country swagger with heartfelt storytelling—just in time to set the stage for Barrie’s breathtaking fireworks show over Kempenfelt Bay at 10 PM.
