So, What’s Going On?
As part of the economic recovery plan for our downtown community, Open Air Dunlop was born and after such a successful fall, we’re expanding it for the 2021 season. Presenting Spring in the City – our fun and exciting campaign designed to help you fall in love all over again with your new downtown.
Here’s What You’re Going to Want to Check Out
Spring in the City includes the following exciting features that you’ll definitely have to check out!
1. Lifeline E-Gift Card Program including the MYSTERY Option!
You can still support downtown Barrie’s amazing local businesses from home! While we’d love to see you downtown, we are also encouraging everyone to #SupportLocal, so pop over to DowntownBarrie.ca and check out our Lifeline E-Gift Cards! Not sure what to get for that special someone? Select the MYSTERY option and leave it to the experts to select something awesome for you!
2. Barrielicious 2021
Barrielicious is back! Beginning April 9th and running until April 25th, Barrielicious will be showcasing the amazing independent restaurants and their talented chefs within the downtown and its surrounding city. Check out all the details at Barrielicious.ca
3. Barrie Farmers’ Market
Each Saturday from 8am until 12pm, pop by the Barrie Farmers’ Market at City Hall before or after exploring Open Air Dunlop in downtown Barrie.

Wider sidewalks, green infrastructure, new street lamps and more! Come see what everyone is talking about in our beautiful new downtown.
6. Patio Program – Coming Soon!
Also part of the economic recovery plan for our downtown community is the expanded patio season including more than just restaurants! Warm and sunny days are on their way, but if needed, bring a jacket and bundle up with your buds while enjoying some of the city’s finest dining experiences.
8. Open Air Dunlop Pop-Ups – Coming Soon!
Stay tuned for announcements on Open Air Dunlop dates! Dunlop Street between Mulcaster Street and Toronto Street will be closed from morning until midnight to vehicle traffic. The public is welcome to bike or walk along the street to check out the downtown’s newly constructed streetscape, visit a local patio or shop, and discover local artists and their works.
