October Tasting Trail in Support of Seasons Centre for Grieving Children
The Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) is gearing up for the 4th annual October Tasting Trail. Please join us on Thursday, October 4th at Homestead Artisan Bakery + Cafe (80 Dunlop Street East) at 1:00pm for the official kick off.
The October Tasting Trail is a Community Connects event that runs every Saturday throughout the month of October. Visitors purchase a $10 tasting passport at any of the participating restaurants or cafes and follow the trail to enjoy free samples during select times. Visitors who make more than 10 stops along the October Tasting Trail can submit their stamped passports at their final stop to be eligible for entry into a draw for a $300+ prize package. The prize package consists of incredible merchandise and gift certificates from participating downtown restaurants and cafes.
This year, the Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) will be donating all proceeds to Seasons Centre for Grieving Children. This organization offers “…a variety of no cost peer to peer support groups for children, teens, young adults and their caregivers grieving the death, or life threatening illness of an immediate family member. Participants are supported through the grief process by trained volunteer grief facilitators and program staff in a safe, non-judgemental, home like atmosphere.”
Stacey Zubczyk, Events Coordinator of the Downtown Barrie Business Association noted that, “Downtown Barrie loves being host to visitors in the fall. The October Tasting Trail showcases our businesses, our downtown and our beautiful waterfront all the while giving back to a great cause.”
This October, make it a tasty one!
