Small Business Support During COVID-19
As COVID-19 continues to spread, our thoughts go out to anyone who has been infected or impacted. We hope that you, your family, friends and colleagues are safe and well, and are taking the necessary precautions to keep it that way.
Our downtown is full of incredible and varying businesses that are facing difficult decisions which may differ from their neighbours. We would like to thank everyone for their care, responsibility and consideration in taking measures to keep themselves, their staff and their community safe.
The Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) has made the responsible decision to have its staff primarily work remotely with reduced and limited office hours for the benefit of their safety and well-being as well as of those they regularly interact with.
We continue to collaborate on and develop ways to support our membership during our province's state of emergency. During this period of economic uncertainty, we ask that you stay well-informed of the resources below.
Stop the Spread Business Information Line – Downtown businesses that have questions about closures of at-risk workplaces or emergency measures impacts on their business or employees can call the Stop the Spread Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659. Monday to Sunday from 8:30am to 5:00.pm
OBIAA is advocating on behalf of Downtown Small Businesses. They recently released a letter to the Hon. Bill Morneau, Minister of Finance and
Hon. Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade. Read More Here.
