Mayor Jeff Lehman will be officially opening the new transient boat slips at the foot of Bayfield Street a 9am on June 16th.  The opening of the approximately 60 slips coincides with the start of the first annual Barrie Boat Show barrieboatshow.com which runs from Friday, June 16th through Sunday, June 18th.  This new boating infrastructure will offer transient boaters a fresh water supply and power while they are tied up in Downtown Barrie; important provisions the original pier did not have.  This new development will put Barrie on the map as a boaters destination.
