A Ripple of Kindness in Downtown Barrie

Thursday, July 18, 2019

Date

Thursday, September 5th

Description

For the third year, A Ripple of Kindness members will be hitting the streets of downtown Barrie to support, socialize, sip and shop.

What is A Ripple of Kindness? 250 Barrie women give $400 each annually to show their commitment to community and then gather quarterly to meet and donate to chosen charities in the greater Simcoe County area. Since the founding date in 2016, they have given over $240,000 to local charities in our community.

Why are they coming downtown? September 5th is the third quarterly meeting of 2019 and approximately 150 members are expected to attend. Following their meeting at the City Hall Rotunda, guests have been invited to enjoy special experiences at Dunlop Street East neighbours Our House, Barrie Olive Oil Co., ZuZu Fashion Boutique and Summer House Store. These shops will stay open until 9pm. The group will finish their evening at Donaleigh’s Irish Public House.

How can you participate? During the meeting, prizes will be drawn and you are invited to contribute to the growing list through a donation of product, merchandise and/or a gift certificate. The value is completely up to you. A mini marketplace will be set up with tabletop storefronts to showcase each participating downtown business to show off the great shops in our downtown! This is your opportunity to introduce your business to this group. It’s also a very valuable opportunity to shout out “WE WILL BE OPEN DURING THE DUNLOP STREETSCAPE CONSTRUCTION!” As a reminder, the start date for the Dunlop Streetscape construction is targeted for September 10 making this a timely opportunity.

Interested in being visible with a donation? Contact Denise Tucker from Barrie Olive Oil Co. at 705.503.6457 or Tracey Baker from ZuZu Fashion Boutique at 705.481.1231 for more information.

Thanks to those who have already made their generous donations in support of our downtown!
