Downtown Barrie Brings Awareness to Local Charities on Giving Tuesday

Invitation to Presser: Tuesday, November 27th at 3:00pm at The Camphill Store (111 Dunlop Street East)

This Giving Tuesday, the Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) is bringing awareness to local charities and organizations they’ve worked with in the past.

On Tuesday, November 27th at 3pm at The Camphill Store (111 Dunlop Street East), representatives from charities and organizations will be present to help remind the public that charity begins at home and giving locally supports our very own community. Camphill is a not-for-profit organization who provides support services to adults and seniors with intellectual disabilities. The Camphill Store showcases the products, crafts and art made by Camphill residents.

Giving Tuesday is a popular movement dedicated to giving back. The day reminds community members to engage in the act of giving right at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. It also falls immediately after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two of the most popular consumer days in North America. The hashtag #givingtuesday helps to showcase the power behind our compassion and care for our local community.

On Tuesday, November 27th, head to The Camphill Store to meet with their representatives and others from Hospice Simcoe, Seasons Centre for Grieving Children, COPE Service Dogs, Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka, the Women & Children’s Shelter, Youth Haven, Barrie Out of the Cold, the David Busby Centre, Rock95 & Kool FM Toy Drive and the Barrie Food Bank. Each representative will be happy to speak on the impact made by every donation, volunteer and moment of attention.

Support our local community this Giving Tuesday by giving to our local charities and organizations.
