Financial Supports for Businesses
Financial Supports Update (February 9, 2022): Small businesses that are subject to closure under the modified Step Two of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen plan are now able to apply for the Ontario COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant.
As a reminder to BIA members, several financial support streams are also currently available:
- The Local Lockdown Program offers wage and rent support for businesses affected by qualifying public health restrictions
- The Hardest Hit Business Recovery Program offers wage and rent support for businesses affected by qualifying public health restrictions
- The Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program offers wage and rent support for businesses affected by qualifying public health restrictions
- The Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit offers direct support to employees whose wages are affected by public health restrictions
- The Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS) offers rent and mortgage support for businesses affected by lockdown measures
- Measures by the Government of Ontario that aim to help businesses preserve cashflow during lockdowns
- Ontario Business Costs Rebate Program to receive rebate payments for a portion of the property tax and energy costs eligible businesses incurred while subject to the provincial public health measures in response to the Omicron variant of COVID-19..
Some programs have had eligibility criteria expanded, modified or corrected from earlier program versions. It is recommended that you check your current eligibility for these programs even if you were deemed ineligible in the recent past.
