Donation of 600 Shield-U Face Shields from Molded Precision Components to Downtown Barrie Businesses

Invitation to Press Conference: FRIDAY, JUNE 19TH AT 1PM AT MERIDIAN PLACE

The Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) is excited to be receiving a donation of 600 Shield-U face shields from Molded Precision Components (MPC) on Friday, June 19th at 1pm for its membership.

MP Doug Shipley, the MPC Team, the Downtown Barrie (BIA) Team and its membership will be receiving the donation from representatives of MPC at Meridian Place. The media is invited to join us to capture this moment of generosity in Barrie to help support our Downtown Businesses.

MPC was established in 1980 to address the automotive industry's need for a responsive prototype molding shop, specializing in high quality plastic parts such as gears and complex assemblies. They are a mid-size, hands-on, owner-operated business located in Oro-Medonte with a fully engaged and highly motivated workforce who all take pride in maintaining their reputation for uncompromising product quality and customer service.

MPC’s Shield-U face shields come with a QR code that provides video instructions. They are fully recyclable, lightweight and comfortable with durable headbands and can be fully sanitized. They are also food safe with no pieces that could fall off and disintegrate during food preparation.

The BIA will be distributing the face shields to its membership in the days following as part of the recovery support they are providing its membership. Re-Open PPE Kits have also been made available to BIA members with a cost-share opportunity for the first 50 kits ordered.

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on businesses everywhere, but none more than our community of independent, owner operated businesses that the BIA represents. Every bit of support helps and acts of generosity and thoughtfulness during trying times are not soon to be forgotten. On behalf of our membership, the Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) would like to extend a huge thank you to Molded Precision Components for their heartfelt generosity!
