Downtown Barrie Presents the First-Ever 35ft Christmas Tree at Meridian Place

Presser: Monday, November 12th at 1:00pm at Meridian Place

The Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) is excited to announce the arrival of the first-ever 30ft Christmas tree at Meridian Place. Installation is scheduled for Monday, November 12th with a presser at 1:00pm on-site.

A beautiful Norway Spruce sourced by Drysdale’s will be erected by crane and securely held in place with a custom 8ft x 10ft stand. Approximately 25,000 low-draw LED lights will be strung illuminating Meridian Place with the magic of the season.

The Tree Lighting Celebration will begin on Saturday, November 17th at 3:30pm. The Barrie Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus Parade starts at 5pm is expected to roll through downtown Barrie around 5:30pm with the official Tree Lighting occurring shortly thereafter. Festivities include live music, fireworks, face painting and free hot chocolate provided by Tim Hortons with a donation to the Barrie Food Bank or the Rock 95 & Kool FM Toy Drive.

The Downtown Barrie Tree Lighting Celebration is the official kick off to the Noëlla Festival presented by Meridian Credit Union. From November 17th to December 16th, Downtown Barrie is the place to be with the Rotary Festival of Trees, storefront festive window displays, Holly Days with a prize package valued at over $3000, a Christmas Artisan Market & a Christmas Tree & Wreath lot in support of Hospice Simcoe, live music and visits with Santa at Meridian Place.
