Downtown Barrie’s Hot Cocoa Trail Supports Seasons Centre for Grieving Children

Downtown Barrie was the place to warm up hearts and souls this past February. The Hot Cocoa Trail was back and each weekend, the public was invited to enjoy 25 flavours with their friends and family at 19 different locations throughout downtown Barrie.

Again this year, one of the stops along the Hot Cocoa Trail invited those 19+ to support Seasons Centre for Grieving Children. Every day throughout February, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery & Tap Room featured their bottles of Ginger Belle beer with $2.00 of every purchase going toward Seasons Centre. This, combined with donation boxes at each location, led to a total of $500.00 raised , and on Wednesday, March 11th, a cheque was presented to Courtney McFadden, Development Manager with Seasons Centre for Grieving Children.

Seasons Centre offers “… peer to peer support groups in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory, safe, home like atmosphere for children, teens, young adults and caregivers grieving the terminal illness or death of a loved one; supporting them as they adjust emotionally to regenerate a sense of self and reconstruct their world.” Supporting our local businesses and organizations has never been so delicious!
