Spring Into Spring

Monday, April 11, 2016

Don’t let the wintry weather we’ve recently experienced in Barrie fool you, the Spring season is finally here. Regardless of what the weather has in store, we’re ready to welcome Spring, and want to help you embrace the seasonal change. One of the simplest ways to welcome Spring and embrace this transition is to freshen up your home decor, giving it a new and fresh Spring look. We sought the expertise of some of our Downtown Barrie neighbours to give you three easy and simple ways to get your home ready for Spring.

Freshen Things Up

Sometimes, the easiest way to spruce up your home is by adding some incredible flower arrangements throughout. Joshua’s Greenery, on Dunlop Street in Downtown Barrie, shared some of their Spring floral tips with us. For starters, as a true sign of Spring, tulips are always a favourite at this time of year. Gerber daisies are also another colourful, Spring accent that will help brighten your home and are available year round.
If you’re looking for something a little more permanent, succulents are a trendy plant that can be added in order to freshen up your home decor. Available in a range of beautiful, green hues, they add a nice, fresh Spring feel to any room. They are also perfect for those who don’t have the greenest of thumbs as they are relatively easy to care for.

Add Some Colour

Bright colours are also suggestive of Spring and, as such, adding a pop of colour is an easy way to bring that Spring feeling indoors. This could be something as simple as placing yellow lemons in a bowl on your kitchen counter or switching up the images in your picture frames to ones that were taken in the Spring. Gurgle Pots and Melamine wine glasses in Spring hues are another great way to inject some Spring in your home and can be found

Capture the Fresh Scent of Spring

Bright colours are not the only things we think of when we think of Spring. The smell of fresh flowers and rain also tends to evoke that special Spring feeling. Embrace the season by capturing this fresh smell. Our House suggests their Michel Design bathroom line, with scents of grapefruit and lemon, and packaging that totally perks up any vanity or shelf.
These are just a few of the ways you can ‘bring the outdoors in’ and embrace the changing of the seasons by giving your home a fresh, new ‘Spring-y’ look and feel. There are so many great ideas out there. There’s also many local shops in Downtown Barrie, that can be found by searching our directory , where you’ll discover unique products and accessories that will help you add a touch of Spring.
