Support local businesses with two hours of free on-street parking in December
Tuesday, December 2, 2025
Barrie, ON – This holiday season, show your support for downtown Barrie businesses while enjoying two hours of free on-street parking in December. The City of Barrie offers this annual initiative to encourage residents and visitors to explore shops, restaurants, and services in our community.
“Our small and medium-sized businesses play a vital role in driving Barrie’s economic stability and growth,” notes Mayor Alex Nuttall. “By offering two hours of free on-street parking in December, we are making it easier for residents to visit, shop, and support the businesses who invest in our city every day.”
Downtown and waterfront parking reminders:
– All downtown parking options are free after 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, all day on weekends, and on statutory holidays.
– Standard parking fees remain in effect for municipal parking lots and at the Collier Street Parkade.
– A digital waterfront parking permit is required for Barrie residents to park for free at specific waterfront areas.
