Open Air Dunlop Air Show Weekend Returns: Drones, Jets, Wings & More

Barrie, ON – The skies above Downtown Barrie and Kempenfelt Bay will once again roar to life from Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8, as the Downtown Barrie Air Show Weekend, presented by Pratt Homes and Commissionaires, makes its thrilling return!

This year’s action-packed weekend kicks off on Friday, June 6, in Meridian Place at 8 pm with a spectacular evening of celebration. Join us for a pilot and crew meet & greet at 8:00 pm, followed by Air Show Trivia at 8:45 pm, and an official opening ceremony at 9:30 pm with Mayor Alex Nuttall and sponsors. At 9:45 pm, look to the skies for a one-of-a-kind Drone Show lighting up the waterfront, capped off with an outdoor screening of the classic aviation film Top Gun under the stars.

On Saturday, June 7, festivities take flight across Dunlop Street, Meridian Place, and Heritage Park beginning at 10:00 am with an amazing ground display of Military activations and installations. The excitement launches with a water ski show at 12:00 noon, leading into the main event—the Air Show at 1:00 pm, featuring vintage aircraft, powerful jets, and aerobatic stunts over the bay. Be sure to catch Downtown Barrie’s sponsored aerial act, the Show Cat & Wing Walking Demo, supporting Women in Aviation.

All weekend long, taste the skies with Downtown Barrie Top Wing, where participating restaurants will debut exclusive, one-time wing flavours in celebration of the Air Show.

On Sunday, June 8, the fun continues with another full day of Open Air Dunlop activities starting at 10:00 am, with the Air Show soaring again from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Join in all the fun, as we honour Barrie’s deep connection with Base Borden, support our vibrant downtown businesses, and celebrate summer with a show like no other.
