Curb Appeal Spring 2015

Friday, June 19, 2015

As a result of growing demand following the first two Curb Appeal events, it was decided that this year we would hold two outdoor dinners, one in the spring and one again in the fall. The timing for the spring was focused around the official kick off of the new Meridian Place construction. Organizers placed the event in the middle of Memorial Square, and because of the imminent construction, the decor was set to an industrial theme filled with metal and glass, all awash in the beauty of Kempenfelt Bay. Sandwiched between two rainy days, we were fortunate to have the weather cooperate – it helped make the entire event set up and the dining experience itself so much fun.

For this third edition of the Curb Appeal dining series, we had amazing food prepared by The Farmhouse, Painter’s Hall, The North, Groovy Tuesday’s, along with a new addition – Kenzingtons Burger Bar. Guests were treated to a variety of creative dishes including a citrus beet cured salmon from Randy Feltis over at The Farmhouse (the recipe for this outstanding dish can be found here).

Wine for the evening was generously sponsored by Canvas & Cabernet, and Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery was set up with beer samples for guests to enjoy. The evening couldn’t have been more perfect, complete with live music that echoed throughout the streets of Downtown Barrie, putting everyone within earshot in a very relaxed state of mind.

The buzz from the evening has got us excited for the fall event, where we are already drawing up ideas for a unique location & theme. If you would like to be informed of when tickets for the next event go on sale, sign up for the Curb Appeal newsletter at barriecurbappeal.ca – remember that tickets sell fast, and with so much talk from the spring event, we are sure that our September edition will be no different!
