Open Air Meridian Halloween Ofrenda

Get into the spooky spirit with our Halloween Ofrenda event! Join us for a day of fun and fright as we celebrate Halloween with a unique cultural twist. Featuring a traditional Ofrenda, this event will also celebrate the Day of the Dead. There will be costume contests for kids and pets, trick-or-treating, and festive art activities for all ages. It’s a celebration like no other, right in the heart of Downtown Barrie:

 

  • Costume Contests @ 1pm Prizes for best-dressed attendees, including a special category for pets!
  • Ofrenda Celebrations: Experience the colours and traditions of Día de los Muertos, with costumes, dancing, and cultural showcases courtesy of La Cocina Mexicana and The Mexican House.
  • Music & Inflatables: Enjoy the festive sounds and themed inflatables.
  • Art & Craft Stations: Get hands-on with creative activities that celebrate both Halloween with Art by Alexandra and La Isla Manila as well as Día de los Muertos sugar skulls with Ofrenda Barrie and The Mexican House.
  • Local Craft Vendors: Browse unique offerings from local artisans.

 

The Open Air Meridian Halloween and Ofrenda is part of Downtown Barrie’s ongoing efforts to create vibrant, community-centered events. Mark your calendars, gather your loved ones, and get ready for a day filled with fun, culture, and celebration!

The Downtown Barrie BIA acknowledges that the Business Improvement Area is located on the traditional land of the Anishnaabeg people. The Anishnaabeg include the Odawa, Ojbwe and Pottawatomi nations, collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy.
