Urban Style Design Studio with a ‘Cultural Twist’ to Open in Downtown Barrie

Barrie, Ontario – Barrie’s burgeoning downtown core is set to welcome an urban style design studio with a cultural ‘twist’.

The drôrs studio showroom will feature kitchen, bathroom and home furnishing and accessory displays with a Euro-Urban modern-contemporary styling.

More than a ‘kitchen and bathroom’ showroom, the drôrs studio showroom has been designed to host community events aimed towards enhancing the cultural hub of Downtown Barrie.

“Barrie’s downtown is well on its way to becoming a cultural hub”, according to Mike Carty, co-director of drôrs.

“With the development along the waterfront and the proposed plans to enhance the downtown core, we are excited to be a part of the continued transformation of Barrie’s downtown as a place that has a strong sense of community and culture”, says Mr. Carty.

With an inviting, open gallery-style space, the drôrs studio will look for ways to enhance Barrie’s downtown’s cultural fabric by hosting events that will celebrate design, community innovation, arts and culture.

“There are so many fantastic businesses and organizations in Barrie’s downtown,” says codirector of drôrs, Mike Windle. “We want drôrs to be a place that helps to create an even stronger sense of community by organizing and hosting events that showcases the many creative and innovative people that live and work here”.

“For us, it’s not just about selling ‘kitchens and furnishings’,” says Mr. Carty. “it’s about maximizing your lifestyle. What better way for our customers to get a sense of how ‘good design’ and exceptional products can impact how you live, than to be in a space with culturallyrich, vibrant energy. The activities we organize and host will provide a snapshot on how ‘good design’ enhances lifestyle”.

The drôrs studio successfully hosted its first event on October 13 as the host venue for the 20th Barrie Film Festival (BFF20) Opening Night Party. Over 150 people celebrated the opening of the BFF20 with four live musical acts and an evening of networking and socializing.

The drôrs studio showroom will officially open its 98 Dunlop Street West, Barrie Ontario storefront with their “Opening Gala” on Thursday, November 2 at 7:00 pm. The event is open to the public by RSVP to gala@drors.ca.
